Photo project gives prisoners a voice

Michele Jarldorn is a PhD student in social work at Flinders University who works with women of lived prison experience using photo-voice.

Last program, Michele gave us a short introduction to photo-voice. In this interview, she shares some of the project’s findings and explains more about how it can be used to assist women transitioning to life after prison.

This audio was produced by Radio Seeds. Radio Seeds is a project of Seeds of Affinity Pathways for Women, a non profit, volunteer run community group that supports women to support each other upon their release from prison.

We broadcast on the first Friday of every month on WOW-FM 100.5FM from 3 – 4pm (Adelaide time). If you’re not in the local area you can tune in online at wowfm.org

We aim to support women in prison, and those who have recently left, and to educate the wider community about the issues faced by women with a criminalised history.

You have permission to re-broadcast – just let us know!
